At BEDAD, we envision a future where Black Executive Directors have equitable access to the opportunities, resources, and funding necessary to lead thriving, sustainable organizations. We believe that when Black leaders are empowered with the tools and support they need, they can create lasting, holistic impact in the lives of Black youth.
OUR VISION IS ROOTED IN THE PRINCIPLES OF EQUITY, EMPOWERMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY
We strive for a world where Black-led organizations are not only supported but also valued for their contributions to social progress. By ensuring access to fair funding, leadership development, and comprehensive resources, we aim to dismantle systemic barriers and foster an ecosystem where Black Executive Directors can drive meaningful change.
Through collaboration, advocacy, and intentional investment, we work to create an environment where Black-led organizations flourish—building stronger communities and brighter futures for Black youth. Together, we are shaping a more just and inclusive society where every Black leader has the opportunity to thrive.
OUR CHALLENGE: UNDER RESOURCED
Black nonprofits tend to be disproportionately underfunded. As strong and as appreciated as our volunteer and donor communities are, there is a collective need for funding sources in covering the cost of the staff development and facilities, ultimately making the programs impzossible to carry out.
